Come on in; "the water's fine"

What is SWIDE Effects LLC?

SWIDE Effects LLC is a social work informatics application to social problems solution.

The S.W.I.D.E. study incorporates Social Work Informatics (Parker-Oliver, Demiris, 2006) and seeks to ascertain the feasibility of designing a software application that will enhance the capacities of third party vendors in an Alabama social services system. Direct practitioners must collect accurate information and share this information with appropriate state agencies under fee-contracts for services. The S.W.I.D.E. software collaborative concept is the result of a relationship between the social work researcher/student and computer science resources of a Historically Black College and University.

Time and time again, we see youth left exposed to the challenges from child welfare, youth services and/or mental health offerings.

Time and time again, we see elders left exposed to the challenges of unforeseen, yet expected exposures.

SWIDE Effects LLC offers solutions to the myriad of challenges due to developmental lifespan issues.

Do you have a child with developmental problems that are not being addressed in Alabama?
Do you have an elder loved one in need of gaining access to a coordinated system of care in Alabama?

In both of these cases, there are solutions in Alabama...SWIDE Effects LLC has been researching these problems since 1983.

SWIDE Effects LLC currently has solutions in 2007, yet now, only in Alabama.

Social Work Interaction Data Entry (S.W.I.D.E.) software manages and processes Alabama’s child welfare, youth services, and mental health data for direct practitioners on a stand-alone or web-based computer. Social workers fulfill seventeen varied roles – system linking – broker, case manager, or coordinator; mediator-arbitrator or advocate; system maintaining - administrator, facilitator, expediter, consultant, and team member; research consumer; mediator-arbitrator and face-to-face caseworker, counselor, enabler, educator for individuals, groups, and families (Gibbs, Locke & Lohmann, 1990; Hepworth & Larsen, 1990; Whitaker & Tracy, 1989, Zastrow, 1992). S.W.I.D.E. software increases efficiency for direct practitioner social scientists.
